Mike Simard, Owner
Mike has been in the automotive industry since he was 13 years old and has always wanted to operate his own shop. After a lot of hard work and dedication, his dream was realized and he is now the proud owner and operator of Simard Automotive! He is an ASE Certified Technician and enjoys all aspects of owning a shop. Mike and his wife have 3 kids and I his spare time, he enjoys spending time with them and boating.

Robert Simard, Shop Foreman
Robert has spent the last 11 years in the Automotive Industry and is an ASE Certified Technician. He grew up in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, where he worked as a Brew Master’s Assistant for 4 years. He also ran a fine dining restaurant.  Robert enjoys working on and expanding his knowledge of foreign vehicles, especially VW, Audi, BMW & Mercedes. In his spare time, he likes to be outdoors and spends most of his time fishing.

Dave Turbovsky, Service Advisor
Dave has worked in the automotive industry since 1988. He also owns and operates an energy efficiency improvement company. He has lived in Alaska since 1991. He is a typical Alaskan man who enjoys fishing, hunting and anything outdoors.

Jimmy Cavanaugh, Service Advisor
Jimmy has been in the automotive industry for 18 years. He grew up in the automotive industry with his father, who owned a multitude of automotive shops. He has taken automotive training courses for management, directing, and repair. (ASE-ASA) Jimmy enjoys serving others and being involved in the community. For activities Jimmy likes to play pool, drag racing, and partake and listen to comedy.

Bob Piser, Master Technician
Bob is an ASE Master Certified Technician with over 10 years of experience and has lived in Alaska for 27 years. He is married with 4 children that take up most of his time. When he does get some free time, he enjoys playing basketball and watching sports on TV.

Pauly Stroup, Technician
Pauly has been in the automotive industry for 14 years. He owned his own automotive shop for 6 years. He went into the automotive industry for his passion for learning and figuring out problems. He is an electronic specialist. He owns 27 dogs and is training to one day run the Iditarod.

Jeff has worked in the automotive industry since 2000. He is an avid fisherman and hunter, and has traveled the world to peruse these hobbies. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, 4 Children and his 2 English Mastiffs.

Cat Pottschmidt, Office Assistant
Cat has worked at Simard Automotive since 2011. She went to Hutchison high with interest in the automotive industry and started working while still in high school. She has lived in Alaska for 9 years. Her hobbies are reading and playing hockey.

Craig has been in the automotive industry for 17 years. He grew up in the automotive industry with his father, who owned a shop in Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors; hunting, fishing or woodworking.

Adam VondenBenken, Service Advisor
Adam has been in the automotive industry his entire career working as a Mechanic and as a Service Advisor. He has been a Service Advisor for the last 10 years. He has a loving wife with 3 girls. When Adam has spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and going fishing.
