Simard Automotive Employee Profile - Brent Garnier, Master Technician

Brent Garnier joined the Simard Automotive team earlier this year and he has been a great asset in the repair shop. He brings a lot of knowledge, education and experience in the automotive repair industry.

Brent is an ASE Certified Master Technician, which means he has completed all eight specialized training certifications offered by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) program. He also holds an Associate’s degree in automotive service technology from Northern Michigan University. Last but not least, he is a Ford and Daimler Chrysler certified technician.

When asked what he likes most about working at Simard Automotive, Brent said that “Everyone is great, super friendly and welcoming. I’ve only been at Simard for a short while and I already feel like an important part of the team.”

Though Brent is still in his first year at Simard Automotive, he has over 10 years of experience in the automotive repair industry to go along with his education and certifications. He grew up learning about cars from his father, who was also a Master Technician. It was a natural fit for him to pursue an automotive career when he grew up. Of course, growing up in Detroit usually means an affinity for cars comes naturally.

Though he grew up around big city life in Michigan, Brent will tell you that he’s always been more of a rural guy at heart. When the opportunity arose to move to Alaska, he didn’t hesitate. Brent’s family couldn’t be happier that they made the move. “It’s really our dream come true,” he says.

Outside of the shop, Brent enjoys spending quality time with his family, which includes one son and three dogs. He loves the outdoors lifestyle. Brent is an avid hunter and fisherman and he is on the verge of training to earn his private pilot’s license, which is another lifelong dream.

We’re very glad to have Brent Garnier on the Simard Automotive team as a Master Technician. He’s one of many people who make our shops such an integral part of the Fairbanks community.
