PJ lives in the lower 48, but his brother lives here in Fairbanks. His brother had been dealing with a number of car issues and always trusted the team at Simard Automotive when repairs and maintenance were needed. Unfortunately, he could never quite afford to get all the issues taken care of at once. That's when PJ stepped in to help surprise his brother.
"Simard on Gaffney has been very good in helping him out and has always treated him very well even though he doesn't have a lot of money," PJ writes in his recent Google review. "When I heard he was having starter and ignition issues, I decided to give Simard a call to see if I could arrange to have extra work done—so he could be worry-free for awhile. His car needed some extensive work just to make it safe, but they worked with me within my budget."
PJ and the Simard Automotive team worked together to take care of the starter issues and a number of other auto repairs that his brother had been putting off. We did our best to keep it all a secret and only keep his brother informed on the repairs he knew about.
A lot of work needed to be done, but we also knew how important the car was to PJ's brother. He couldn't get by without it for too long, so we did everything we could to get him back safely on the road as quickly as possible—with all the necessary repairs completed, of course.
"I was sad that due to the extra work he was without his car for longer than he expected, but then the crew got it done a few days early," PJ adds. "They honored my wishes to keep it a surprise without telling any fibs! Needless to say, I wish I could have seen his face when they started telling him all the repairs and then let him know I covered part of the expense. He was shocked and very thankful."
We are so grateful to PJ for reaching out to us and letting us play our part in his special surprise for his brother. We would also like to thank him for sharing this great story in his Google review for our Gaffney Road shop!
"He really trusts these guys to keep him on the road," PJ concludes. "I am very grateful. When you have family far away and know there is no family nearby, it's comforting to know his car is safe and more dependable. Thanks Robert and Justin for keeping me updated and taking care of my brother."
